The classic Italian sub to me is the ULTIMATE sandwich recipe. I love all the layers of different meats and the vinegar punch. It’s a simple sandwich to make and one of my family’s go to for a tasty lunch.


  1. 2 good quality sub rolls
  2. 8 slices Genoa salami
  3. 8 sliced Capicola
  4. 8 slices ham
  5. 4 slices provolone cheese
  6. 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  7. Thinly sliced green bell pepper
  8. Thinly sliced red onion
  9. Spinach or shredded romaine lettuce
  10. Sliced black olives
  11. Peperoncini peppers


  1. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  2. 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  3. 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  4. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  5. salt
  6. pepper
  7. 1/2 cup olive oil


  1. First thing you want to do is make the vinaigrette. In a small bowl mix together the garlic, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and olive oil
  2. Cut the sub roll in half longways and add as much of the vinaigrette to the bread on both sides
  3. Add the sliced Genoa salami, Capicola, ham, provolone, and mozzarella
  4. To the top add as much or as little of the toppings as you’d like
  5. Cut in half and serve! That’s it. A delicious and extremely satisfying sub for anyday of the week
